Project Description

Completed in 2021, the project scope included the purchase and installation of a new 85,000 lb/hr boiler in UGA’s Central Steam Plant – Boiler House #1. The project required many unique challenges including phased construction, coordinating and executing a campus-wide steam/hot water shut down with UGA’s Facilities Management Division, procurement, delivery, and installation of equipment valued over $1.2 million, orchestrating all pre-construction services during the COVID Pandemic including Purchase Orders and subcontracts valued over $1 Million, and coordinating structural challenges associated with the historic Boiler House #1 including unforeseen foundation issues and structural masonry engineering.
