Project Description
The Memorial Hall Rehabilitation project encompassed a complex and multi-phased renovation in an occupied building. The building housed many departments needing to stay in operation during the work.
A complete rehabilitation of the mechanical and plumbing systems was performed, including the addition of infrastructure for future renovations. Utilizing exploratory methodologies, DSI was instrumental in determining access and pathways for equipment and duct. The existing plumbing waste lines and venting were mapped out utilizing camera scoping. This was completed with the design team, enabling the development of a detailed plan of action and accurate budget very early in the design stage.
Utilizing the fire protection pump in the adjacent Reed Hall building, DSI also brought a fire main into Memorial Hall and new fire protection systems were distributed to renovated areas. The budget for this work was established before any design work was conducted.
Other Memorial Hall project scopes of work included: asbestos abatement, upgrading finishes, restorations, restroom renovations, replacing windows, insulating attic spaces, and code improvements.
